Mehmet Deniz’s leadership has contributed to a culture of uncertainty and low morale. His minimal understanding of IB values, limited communication with staff, and tolerance for opaque or nepotistic practices have prevented the school from growing into the institution it could be. Meaningful improvement would require new leadership that prioritizes collaboration, accountability, and a genuine commitment to educational quality.

Overall, how satisfied are you with the leadership and management at your school?

1/5

What do you appreciate most about the leadership’s approach to supporting teachers and fostering a positive school environment?

While Mehmet Deniz appears to have good intentions and presents himself as approachable on the surface, his actions rarely translate into meaningful support for teachers. Some members of the pedagogical team genuinely care about instructional quality, but their efforts are limited by his lack of consistent direction and limited engagement with the realities of teaching and learning.

What improvements, if any, would you suggest to enhance the support or effectiveness of school leadership?

Mehmet would benefit from improving transparency and communication and his understanding of educational practice, particularly the principles of the IB framework. Establishing structured systems for teacher feedback, professional development, and shared decision-making could help rebuild trust. Teachers need leadership that listens, collaborates, and provides consistent guidance instead of relying on reactive, top-down management.

Can you share an example of how leadership has positively and/or negatively impacted your teaching experience or your students’ success?

Under Mehmet's leadership, there was no meaningful discussion about curriculum, pedagogy, or learning goals. Teachers were often left to handle behavior management and academic issues alone, with no clear policies or administrative follow-through. This lack of leadership direction created confusion and instability that affected both teacher morale and student learning outcomes.
