Jason Rogers’ actions on February 10, 2025, were nothing short of a criminal assault on defenseless children. Weighing over 350 pounds and choosing to deliberately use students as stepping stools while completely ignoring their cries of pain is an act of pure cruelty. He weaponized a standard school lockdown drill to inflict severe pain and physical harm as a form of punishment. A person capable of such abusive behavior belongs in a courtroom, not a classroom. While the permanent forfeiture of his teaching license is a mandatory step for public safety, it does not erase the trauma and physical suffering he inflicted on those students and their families. He remains a disgrace to the teaching profession.

There is absolutely nothing to appreciate about this individual's approach to engagement or teaching. His behavior demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism, empathy, and basic human decency. A person who uses physical violence and intimidation against children cannot be credited with any positive educational or engagement skills.
What improvements, if any, would you suggest to enhance your child’s learning experience in this class?
The only acceptable improvement is the total and permanent removal of Jason Rogers from any position of authority over children. Furthermore, he must undergo mandatory psychological evaluations and comprehensive anger management rehabilitation. He needs to face the maximum legal and financial consequences possible to ensure he is held fully accountable for abusing his position.
Is there anything specific about the teacher’s approach that has made a positive and/or negative impact on your child’s development or academic progress?
His malicious approach has had a devastating, entirely negative impact on student development. Intentionally standing on sixth-graders' backs—especially given his massive physical size—caused severe bodily injuries, including back trauma that required hospitalization. Beyond the physical damage, using a safety drill to inflict pain and terrorize students destroys a child's psychological sense of safety, leaving lasting emotional trauma and an absolute distrust of adult authority figures.
