I appreciated the efforts of certain leaders who communicated clearly, acted with integrity, and genuinely tried to improve the school during a very challenging period. The HR and administrative staff also worked hard to support expatriate teachers with logistics, which is not easy in Egypt. Some colleagues were incredibly dedicated, resilient, and collaborative, and those relationships helped make the experience manageable. There is also strong potential in the school’s facilities and resources, which, if used consistently and effectivel, could support a much stronger learning environment.

What areas of improvement do you think the school should focus on to better support its teachers?

The most urgent issue is student behavior. Many classes were extremely difficult to manage due to long-standing behavioral norms and years of inconsistent staffing. Teachers often felt unsupported in addressing recurring issues, and the lack of consequences for serious disruptions made teaching far more difficult than it needed to be. High staff turnover also affects student trust, stability, and overall expectations for learning. Lastly, clearer alignment between educational leadership and ownership would help ensure that long-term improvement plans can be implemented consistently.
