If you are moving to the Summerlin or Queensridge area for the schools, Rogich is a very safe bet for strong academics, campus safety, and great extracurriculars. It looks fantastic on paper and delivers on the education side. Just be ready for the realities of a massive Clark County public school. Classes easily push 35 or more kids, and the administration can be pretty unyielding. It is a top-tier education, but you definitely have to stay proactive as a parent.

What do you appreciate most about the school’s approach to supporting your child’s learning and development?

I really love that Rogich keeps the academic bar high. Coming out of Vassiliadis Elementary, my child was already used to a fast pace, and Rogich matched that perfectly. The Pre-AP classes keep the kids genuinely challenged instead of just coasting. Plus, the elective programs here are incredible. The band and orchestra are absolutely elite and run like professional high school programs.

What improvements, if any, would you suggest to make the school experience better for students and parents?

The overcrowding is getting out of hand, and it feels like the administration tries to manage the massive student body by just making the rules hyper-rigid. Giving the kids only four minutes to get across campus means they are constantly stressed about getting detentions for being seconds late. Also, communication from the front office feels very slow and corporate. It is pretty tough to get a straight answer or a quick callback when you have a concern.

Can you share an example of how the school has positively and/or negatively impacted your child’s academic or personal growth?

On the positive side, being surrounded by motivated kids from around the neighborhood has really pushed my child to take ownership of their grades and study habits. On the negative side, the sheer size of the school was a total shock to the system. During the first semester, my child felt like just a number in a sea of faces because the counselors are too stretched thin with CCSD budget issues to give much personal support.
