Mr. McCrory’s current approach to leadership feels transactional rather than transformational. Collaboration thrives on trust, not intimidation. Until he learns to value and empower the leaders under him, the school will continue to struggle with stability, cohesion, and authentic progress.

Overall, how effective do you believe this leader is in their role?

1/5

What do you appreciate most about this leader’s approach to school leadership and fostering collaboration with other leaders?

At first, Mr. McCrory appeared focused on operational efficiency and financial restructuring. While it’s clear he values control and measurable outcomes, his leadership style prioritizes cost-cutting over collaboration. Decision-making is often centralized, leaving other leaders with little input or shared responsibility.

What improvements, if any, would you suggest to this leader to strengthen their impact or effectiveness?

Mr. McCrory would benefit from genuine transparency, shared governance, and respect for his leadership team. Encouraging open dialogue and trusting his coordinators and department heads would help rebuild morale. A leader’s success is not just about saving money but about inspiring the people who implement the vision. Listening and empowering others would go a long way toward repairing the current disconnect.

Can you share an example of how this leader has positively or negatively impacted the school, school’s team, and/or students?

Unfortunately, his leadership has negatively impacted both staff retention and the overall school culture. Morale among middle leaders and teachers has declined due to public credit-taking, micromanagement, and fear-based evaluation practices. Enrollment has also dropped under his tenure, reflecting broader dissatisfaction. His approach may work short-term on paper but erodes long-term trust and loyalty within the school community.
